HIH Princess Esma Sultana (Turkish: Esma Sultan) (1873–1899) was the daughter of Sultan Abdülaziz by Neşerek (Nesrin) Haseki Kadın Efendi.
Esma Sultana was born on March 21, 1873 in Dolmabahçe Palace in Constantinople[1][2] to Sultan Abdülaziz's fifth wife HH Neşerek Haseki (Nesrin) Kadın Efendi Sultana (1848–1876) as the second child. She had an older brother, HIH Prince Shehzade Mehmed Şevket Efendi (June 5, 1872 - October 22, 1899). She was soon followed by another sibling, HIH Princess Emine Sultana (August 24, 1874 - January 29, 1920).
Following her father Sultan Abdülaziz's deposition by the ministers on May 30, 1876 and death a few days later, she was taken into the harem of Sultan Abdülhamid II at the age of three.
She was married on April 20, 1889 at the age of 16 to HE Damad Cherkes Mehmed Pasha Bey Efendi (1856 - May 24, 1909) in Yıldız Palace, Constantinople. Her husband was a general in the Ottoman Army and first aide-de-camp to Abdülhamid II. From this marriage came three sons and one daughter:
Esma Sultana died on May 7, 1899 and was interred in Murad V Mausoleum at Yeni Cami in Eminönü, Constantinople.[3]
